Cancellation Policy

All trips must be paid in full at the time of booking. Cancellations are subject to a 6% non-refundable processing fee. 14+ Days Notice: 100% refund of the total booking (minus 6% fee). 7–14 Days Notice: 50% refund of the total booking (minus 6% fee). Under 7 Days: No refund will be issued. Weather Cancellations: If the Captain cancels due to unsafe conditions (e.g., lightning, high winds), you will receive a full credit to reschedule. "Less than perfect" weather (light rain​​​/​​​clouds) does not qualify for a refund.

Deposit & Payment Policy

Full Payment at Booking: To secure your date, 100% of the rental fee plus the non-refundable platform fee is due at the time of booking Deposit: On the day of your rental, a security deposit hold of $1,000 will be placed on a major credit card. Release: This hold is typically released within 1–3 business days after the equipment is returned on time and in the same condition it was received. Damages: Any damage to the GTR 230, including fiberglass scratches, engine intake of debris, or equipment loss, will be deducted from this deposit. If damages exceed the deposit amount, the renter remains responsible for the full cost of repairs.

Owner's Terms

RENTAL AGREEMENT, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, AND INDEMNIFICATION 1. ASSUMPTION OF RISK The undersigned (hereafter "Renter") acknowledges that operating a high-performance personal watercraft (PWC), such as the Sea-Doo GTR 230, on the open waters of Lake Michigan is an inherently dangerous activity. Risks include, but are not limited to: change in water conditions, high winds, waves, collisions with other vessels or fixed objects, equipment failure, and drowning. Renter voluntarily assumes all risks of personal injury, death, and property damage. 2. RELEASE OF LIABILITY Renter hereby RELEASES, WAIVES, AND DISCHARGES Lux Rentals, its owners, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action for personal injury, death, or property damage arising out of the rental and use of the equipment, including those claims caused by the ordinary NEGLIGENCE of the Released Parties. 3. INDEMNIFICATION AND HOLD HARMLESS Renter agrees to INDEMNIFY, DEFEND, AND HOLD HARMLESS Lux Rentals against any and all claims, suits, or actions of any kind for any losses or damages brought by third parties (including passengers or other boaters) resulting from Renter’s operation of the vessel. This includes reimbursement for all legal fees and court costs incurred by Lux Rentals. 4. COMPLIANCE WITH ILLINOIS LAW Boater Safety: Renter certifies that if they were born on or after January 1, 1998, they possess a valid Illinois Boater Safety Certificate as required by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR).Sobriety: Renter agrees to a Zero Tolerance policy. Operation of the PWC under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. If impairment is suspected, the rental will be terminated immediately without refund.Life Jackets: Renter and all passengers agree to wear a USCG-approved Type III Life Jacket at all times while on the watercraft. 5. EQUIPMENT DAMAGE AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY Renter is 100% responsible for the physical condition of the watercraft from the time of checkout to return.Security Deposit: A hold of $1,000 will be placed on the Renter's credit card.Damages: Renter is liable for the full cost of repairs for any damage, including fiberglass cracks, engine damage from debris intake, or loss of equipment (anchors, vests, etc.).Loss of Use: If the PWC is damaged and cannot be rented to future clients, Renter agrees to pay a "Loss of Use" fee equal to the daily rental rate for every day the craft is out of service. 6. LAKE MICHIGAN BOUNDARY LIMITS Renter agrees to stay within the designated riding area (e.g., within 2 miles of the shoreline. Operation outside these zones or in restricted swim areas will result in immediate forfeiture of the security deposit. 7. SEVERABILITY If any portion of this agreement is found to be unenforceable by an Illinois court, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. BY BOOKING THIS RENTAL I HAVE READ THIS AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, AND UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT.
